Having a video doorbell can not only give you peace of mind when you’re on holiday, but help you feel safe and informed about who’s coming and going outside your home. One hazard many video doorbell users may not be expecting though is a being woken up by a huge spider.
One couple were rudely awakened when a spider somehow managed to ring their doorbell – at 3am.
While on holiday in the Lake District, John Wood, 35, and wife Rebecca, also 35, were alerted to their Ring doorbell being activated.
Not knowing who the early hours visitor could be, John checked the video and was amazed to see a spider clambering over his doorbell.
Not one for those with arachnophobia, the eerie video shows the spider climbing right across the camera.
John said: “We were on holiday and we got an alert saying there was a person at the door.
“It was the middle of the night at 3am, we were in bed. We wondered who was trying to get in the house while we were away on holiday.
“Then we saw that spider crawl across – it was like an alien or something.
“My wife saw it first, she was terrified and panicked and doesn’t want to go home. We’ve got a little boy who thought it was an alien in the house.”
