A 62-year-old grandmother and her 25-year-old husband have been forced to defend their almost four-decade age difference after online trolls blast the “weird” relationship. And Quran McCain and Cheryl McGregor have announced that they’re planning to have a first child together through surrogacy – despite the 37-year age gap.
Quran and Cheryl, from Rome in the US state of Georgia, first met in 2012 while they were both working in the fast food chain Dairy Queen.
But romantic feelings between the pair didn’t blossom until years later when Quran and Cheryl reconnected after he saw his former colleague working as a cashier at a convenience store in 2020.
They went on to get married in 2021 and are now planning to expand their family.
“Cheryl has seven children and 17 grandchildren already but we feel we deserve children of our own,” said Quran. “We have tried for children but with age, we feel surrogacy or adoption would be a better option.”
Since Cheryl is much older than Quran, they know he may have to raise their child alone somewhere down the line, but they said they are prepared for that.
Cheryl, speaking in a TikTok video, said: “If I am not here he can do it. He’s gonna be a great father, he’s a responsible adult. I had every bit of faith that he could raise our child and do it very well.
“Our family is also very supportive of our decision to have children, at first they were hesitant for the same reasons.
“However, now five of my children have come to accept the idea.”

After the couple went public with their relationship on TikTok, they were inundated by hurtful comments from cruel trolls.
In one of his most recent videos, Quran answered the question ‘why do you go so hard for someone who is 37 years older than you?” with a simple “she completes me”.
One user commented on his video: “You and your grandma have such a good relationship.”
Another said: “That age gap is older than me and my mum.”
But the couple doesn’t seem to be letting criticism get them down, as Quran said: “We get a lot of hate but it doesn’t phase us. At the end of the day, we still got each other and that’s all that matters.
“No matter what they say or do, it can’t hurt us. We know the stuff that they say isn’t true and they believe it, we feel sorry for them.”
Soon after the couple started dating, they began posting videos of themselves on TikTok and they have now become viral sensations on the platform because of their nearly four-decade age difference.
Their intimate wedding was even live-streamed on the app and viewed by thousands of their fans.
