Coronation 'save the date' deadline is TODAY but Harry and Meghan are yet to reply

Yet to confirm their attendance at King Charles’s Coronation next month are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The couple confirmed they had received an invite last month, although failed to “at this time” state if they would be joining the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey this spring. But a decision could be imminent, as some guests were “asked to RSVP to the Palace” by end of play on Monday, April 3, according to reports.

The Telegraph have reported that “Coronation guests have already been emailed by Buckingham Palace and told to “save the date” of the ceremony, with some asked to RSVP to the palace by Monday.”

Following their continuous potshots aimed at the institution and certain members of the Royal Family, speculation grew over whether the King would be set to snub his younger son and daughter-in-law.

However, the couple confirmed that they had received an invite last month, via a public statement from their spokesperson.

The statement read: “I can confirm the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the Coronation.

“An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

Harry and Meghan have since remained tight-lipped on their plans for May 6.

Back in January, the Duke of Sussex was asked, via an interview which coincided with the release of his memoir, if he would be attending the Coronation.

The 38-year-old seemingly dodged the question, simply answering that the “door is always open” for a reconciliation and that the “ball is in their court”.

Also, in additional promotion for Spare, Harry told the Royal Family to “come clean” to their mistakes, adding that then “we could all move on.”

The Duke’s comments were in relation to the family’s supposed treatment of his wife, Meghan.

Despite being invited to invited, the couple’s two young children have reportedly been missed from the invite.

Archie, who will turn four on the day of the Coronation, and 21-month-old Lilibet are not set to join the Royal Family on their grandfather’s big day.

Royal expert, and the late Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell previously stated that he thinks the appearance of the couple would be “incredibly uncomfortable” for them.

He added that he believes that Harry “may come alone”, adding that he thinks Meghan is not “brave or strong enough” to attend.
