A Conservative MP has reportedly been arrested over an allegation of rape.
The politician was interviewed by police on Wednesday, according to reports.
He was also said to have been questioned on suspicion of possession of controlled substances.
A spokesperson for a UK police force said: “We can confirm a man was arrested yesterday morning (25 October) on suspicion of rape and possession of controlled substances.
“He has been released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.”
The Conservative Party declined to comment.
