Hopeful Beatles fans are turning up to a London location to try and recreate an iconic album sleeve – only to find that they are 40 minutes in the wrong direction.
The confused devotees are hoping to pose like the Fab Four who walked over a zebra crossing on their iconic Abbey Road album cover.
But they have been turning up up at the east London Abbey Road DLR station by mistake – which is 40 minutes away from the famous zebra crossing near the north London music studio.
To end up at the correct location it costs the visitors another £3.40 – and takes an extra 40 minutes to get to Abbey Road Studios.
And so many have made the same mistake a sign was erected in 2021 to steer people onto the right path.
It reads: “Feel like you’ve been here there and everywhere and on a magical mystery tour? Then don’t pass me by. Unfortunately you are at the wrong Abbey Road. However we can work it out and help you get back to the correct location.”
A TikToker, who runs the @londonmusictours account, also shared his thoughts on the common error.
He said: “Hello and welcome to the wrong Abbey Road station. If you’ve come to east London on the DLR looking for the famous crosswalk where The Beatles shot their album sleeve in 1969…Well you’ve come to the wrong place my friend and you can plainly see, you’re not the first one either.
“You need to head to St. John’s Wood in north west London. However…since you’re here, you’re never very far away from a bit of rock and roll history.
“Just a two minute walk away is the Abbey Mills Pumping Station where in 1968 Pink Floyd played recording for television a version of Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun.

Now And Then was originally written by the late John Lennon and developed by his fellow band members, including George Harrison who also passed away.
