College student stabbed date during sex as 'revenge' for Iranian commander's death

College student Nika Nikoubin has avoided jail after she stabbed her date in the neck during sex, before claiming it was revenge for the US killing an Iranian commander in a drone strike.

The 23-year-old has been handed a three years probabtion after she was indicted on attempted murder and other charges after stabbing Daniel Trevino in the neck after the pair met on Plenty of Fish. The incident happened as they were having sex in a hotel room near Las Vegas.

Nikoubin admitted two counts of false imprisonment with the use of a deadly weapon. Judge Carli Kierny said Nikoubin’s mental health struggles was the reason she was offered probation in Texas, 8 News Now reported.

The defendant suffers from severe depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Her lawyer said the stabbing incident was a psychotic episode.

According to the New York Post, Nikoubin told the court she had been raped as a teenager. She said she “did not fully realize the impact that this experience had on me and my mental health deteriorated.”

She also said she had been in a mental health facility 10 days before meeting Trevino. However, when in court, Nikoubin offered an apology to her victim.

She said: “Most importantly your honor, I want to express my deepest apologies to the victim, Daniel, and to the state of Nevada, for the harm that I have caused.”

The pair had met on Plenty of Fish when they decided to get a hotel room together. While having sex, Nikoubin blinded Trevino before plunging a pink kitchen knife into his neck.

The Texas student, who came to the US from Iran at the age of 12, told law enforcement she had stabbed Trevino for revenge over the death of Qasem Soleimani in 2020, adding she attacked him out of “spite and revenge.”

At the time she said: “I mean the U.S. killed Soleimani. Lots of blood spilled, so, I feel like, it’s fair that American blood be spilled.”

“We were drinking a little bit and then — I guess we started to get into it and then I stabbed him,” Nikoubin says in the footage, obtained by KLAS. She also claimed she did not want to kill Trevino, only “hurt” him.

Former President Donald Trump called for Soleimani’s assassination because he was the “number one terrorist anywhere in the world.”
