Clubbers 'filmed Cody Fisher's final moments' in vile Snapchat video

A vile video, shared on social media app Snapchat, appears to show Mr Fisher on the floor, while a voice, believed to be that of the person recording, can be heard saying “my man is dead” as the camera zooms in and out on the scene as medics fought to save the young man.

Mr Fisher, a semi-professional footballer, died at the scene and, though a murder investigation has since been launched, no one has been arrested in connection with the death.

But West Midlands Police are now urging anyone with video footage of the tragedy to contact the force immediately.

Detectives said today they were “pleased” with public response to the manhunt so far, reports Birmingham Live.

Officers are expected to remain at the scene today.

Mr Fisher, who was also a sports coach at a school and nursery in Redditch, Worcestershire, was out “enjoying himself with friends” on a Boxing Day night out when he was approached “by a group” and then “stabbed”.

Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood, leading the investigation for West Midlands Police, told the media the man’s family said they had “lost their best friend”.

They are being supported by specially trained officers.

In a poignant statement, his family said: “They have broken our hearts; I have lost my best friend.

“My family and I are asking for privacy and respectfulness at this heart-breaking time.”

Woodrow First School and Nursery, where Mr Fisher worked, tweeted: “Everyone is devastated to hear of the tragic and needless death of this friendly and talented young man. Many of the children know Cody as their sports coach and love and admire him.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends. May he rest in peace.”
