Christian Horner offers defiant answer over Red Bull future after Bahrain GP domination

Christian Horner has batted off concerns that he won’t be on the pit wall by the time the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix rolls around next weekend, reiterating his commitment to the Red Bull team.

The team principal was cleared of any wrongdoing following the conclusion of a lengthy internal investigation into misconduct allegations on Wednesday.

However, this did little to calm down the speculation, and one day later an email with a Google Drive folder allegedly containing messages and photos sent by Horner to the unnamed employee went around the paddock.

While the legitimacy of the chats has not been verified and Horner refused to comment on the “anonymous speculation” when quizzed on Friday, it has added more fuel to the fire.

During his post-race interview with Sky Sports F1 on Saturday, Horner was asked whether or not he would be on the pit wall in Jeddah next weekend. He replied bluntly: “Yes, absolutely. I wouldn’t be here otherwise.”

The 50-year-old was also quizzed about the atmosphere within the Red Bull camp, noting: “Yes, absolutely [we are united].

“We are a very strong team. We have got tremendous support, tremendous partners and great shareholders behind us as well. You don’t achieve this kind of result by not being united.”
