China and Russia kick off unofficial arms race to secure nuclear dominance over US

China and Russia have struck a “short-term” alliance to establish and exert their nuclear weapons dominance over the United States. The two nations have been increasingly collaborating to undermine the United States, according to strategic deterrent expert Rebeccah Heinrichs. The US has warned last month Beijing is now considering providing “lethal support” to Russia in Ukraine, a move going against Washington’s efforts to support its allies in Kyiv.

Heinrichs said Russia and China growing closer can be potentially “dangerous” to pivotal US infrastructure that has so far been guaranteeing the safety of Americans.

She said: “What makes this so dangerous is that Xi and Putin are collaborating in new ways to threaten the US alliance architectures, systems of trade and safe and secure commerce – all of which have allowed Americans to be safe, prosperous and free for decades.”

Former Intelligence officer Rebekah Koffler also warned about the strengthening alliance, warning Beijing and Moscow are seeking to split Eurasia into clear spheres of dominance to keep the United States out.

Koffler noted the expansion of both countries’ nuclear arsenal is a pivotal part of their strategy to exert their control over the area.

But she noted the alliance between the two will remain “short term” as they will be focussing on pursuing their separate goals later on.

Speaking to Fox Digital, she said: “Russia and China are strategic partners in the short term as they are joining forces to challenge the US, in order to deter us from interdicting their respective plans to establish dominance in their respective perceived spheres of influence in Eurasia.

“In the long term, Moscow and Beijing are strategic opponents, hence they’ve been modernizing their nuclear arsenals and doctrines.”

Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that while intelligence is not showing China is on the verge of deploying weapons, the risk is still present.

Sullivan said: “We are watching closely. We know they haven’t taken it off the table.

“And we are sending a clear message, as are our European allies, that this would be a real mistake because those weapons would be used to bombard cities and kill civilians, and China should want no part of that.”

China has rejected claims it plans to send military aid to Russia and insisted they are committed to helping secure a peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv.

Last week, top diplomat Wang Yi visited President Putin to present China’s plan for peace. Wang has not yet visited Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the proposal.
