With a wealth of midfield options Paez could be given his left winger role as part of a front three on his arrival at Stamford Bridge. Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk could also be challenging for a starting place on the left and are due to remain at the club until at least 2027.
Fellow teenager Deivid Washington will be competing with Nicolas Jackson for the central role – with both signed in the summer on long deals. Sterling could be switched onto the right to make way for Paez, while youngster Noni Madueke will also be hoping to cement his place during the next two years.
