Chelsea star 'being shown videos of Ivan Toney' as Mauricio Pochettino tries to fix form

“He is doing fantastic for me. I really appreciate the effort he is doing. He is very tough. He is very mature in the way he accepts and deals with that pressure. You can see a player that fights, runs, wants the ball even when he made a mistake.

“Even if the fans are not happy, he will try again, he will never give up. And he is scoring goals. In his first season here in England, he is doing well. Better than people maybe think. Much better.”

Toney could be lining up alongside Jackson next season if Chelsea meet Brentford’s asking price for their talisman, but Pochettino has insisted that he will not be involved in such transfer decisions and is happy to get on with his job of coaching the team.

“I am the coach that needs to be in my place,” he said. “I cannot say nothing.”
