Chelsea make 'final decision' on going after Tottenham's No 1 striker target in January

It has been widely speculated that Chelsea might sign a new forward to lift the scoring burden from summer signing Nicolas Jackson. The Blues new boy has struggled for consistency since his arrival, despite scoring a hat-trick against nine-man Tottenham.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino brutally told Jackson that he needed to improve after he scored that treble, insisting that his striker should have scored six times in the game. “He’s still young, needs to improve. Okay scored three goals, should have scored six,” the Argentine said.

“The most important thing is to keep him calm and relaxed and he is going to improve with time. Nights like Monday help him not to be too nervous and approach a game in a different way.”
