Chelsea 'crazy' about teenager taking Champions League by storm as £12m transfer lined up

Having made his debut for the club just six days after his 16th birthday back in November 2021, there are high hopes for Bardghji at club and international level. The Kuwaiti-born starlet represents Sweden Under-21s and is already being earmarked for a senior call-up.

His name ‘Roony’ rings eerily similar to Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney, who also announced himself on the world stage in the Champions League by scoring a hat-trick. Chelsea missed out on the Englishman back in 2004 when he decided to head to Old Trafford, and they could be snubbed again by his namesake if Real Madrid enter the running.

In a recent interview, the youngster revealed his desire to join the La Liga giants in his career and has designs on emulating the likes of Lionel Messi in becoming the best footballer in the world.

“My goal is to become the best footballer in the world,” he told Aftonbladet in last year. “I’ve had that dream since I was a kid and nothing can stop me except myself… I want to end up in Real Madrid. I want to play there for many years.”
