CCTV shows 'Nottingham attack suspect' trying to break into care home just before killings


A man believed to be the suspect in the Nottingham attacks also attempted to break into a residential home just moments before one of the victims was fatally stabbed. CCTV footage reportedly captures the moment the suspect tries to make his way into Seely Hirst House residential home which houses vulnerable and homeless people in the city.

Witnesses told Sky the man was outside the home in Mapperley Road just after 4am.

He was then seen trying to climb through an open window, but a resident inside woke up and punched him, sending him stumbling to the ground.

The suspect then looked for a different way in, but left, heading towards Magdala Road where Ian Coates was found dead soon after.
