Carlos Alcaraz has been keeping himself busy during the off-season training guests at a 5-star resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. The Spaniard hosted group clinics and private lessons at hotels in the One&Only Palmilla earlier this month.
The 20-year-old tennis star collaborated with the luxurious resort through his management company LUX Tennis. Guests of the One&Only Palmilla pay up to £1,000 a night to stay in the scenic location surrounded by crashing waves and sandy beaches.
But a 30-minute private session with Alcaraz costs four times the price of a room reservation, coming in at a whooping £4,000. Meanwhile, group sessions were billed at a slightly more reasonable £450 per guest.
Alcaraz shared a photo dump on Instagram of his time at the resort with plenty of pictures of him greeting young fans and enjoying the stunning views on offer in Los Cabos.
It also appeared that he got some downtime during his stay at the resort with videos scattered among his camera roll of the world No2 enjoying a game of volleyball and watching the sunrise on a beach by his hotel.
“Thank you @oneandonlypalmilla and @luxtennis for this memorable stay in Los Cabos!” wrote Alcaraz in the caption of his post. “I’m coming back home with the energy charges at 100% and ready for the preseason!”
Alcaraz’s pre-season commences on December 27 as he takes on Novak Djokovic in an exhibition match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Saudi showdown will be wedged between two training blocks with double daily sessions at the Juan Carlos Ferrero Tennis Academy in Villena, Spain.
Alcaraz then gets down to business at the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, commencing on January 14 next year. The reigning Wimbledon champion missed this year’s Melbourne major due to a leg injury, with Djokovic beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final to lift a record-extending 10th title.
