Cancer breakthrough hopes as 'groundbreaking' holy grail drug kills all tumours in study


Scientists have developed a “groundbreaking” cancer drug that destroys all tumours, an early study showing promising results has suggested. Codenamed AOH1996, the pill has been shown to kill a mutated protein that helps cancer grow and multiply. This protein, called proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), was previously understood to be “undruggable”.
