Rocker Bruce Springsteen has had to postpone all of his September shows after taken advice from his medical team.
Currently touring the United States, The Boss announced he was “heartbroken” to cancel his performances throughout September. It means gigs in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut and Washington DC have had to be moved.
It comes as the 73-year-old announced he was being treated for a for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. These can often include pain, bloating, and nausea among others.
The singer says he has now been told to take it easy and rest. He was however scheduled to perform with the E Street Band in Syracuse, NY on Thursday.
A spokesman said: “Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have postponed all performances currently scheduled for September 2023, beginning with tomorrow’s show scheduled for the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease and the decision of his medical advisors is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.”
While Springsteen added: “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. We’ll be back soon.”
