Cash App founder Bob Lee allegedly frequented underground sex and drug parties with other elites in San Francisco – including the sister of the man accused of killing him, it has been reported. Lee died after being stabbed on April 4, which at first was believed to have been due to random violence.

However, friends of the tech mogul have said his death was the result of Lee’s association with Khazar Momeni, 37, the wife of a prominent plastic surgeon and the sister of the man charged with his death – Nima Momeni.

Lee’s friends have told the Wall Street Journal he and Khazar were in a relationship in the weeks prior to his death, with many concerned he had begun living an unsafe lifestyle and was surrounding himself with the wrong people.

According to prosecutors Momeni stabbed Lee in the heart numerous times after promising to “come down hard on him” and interrogating him over his relationship with Khazar.

Lee’s pals have said that the father-of-two took drugs casually and partied often, while asserting that he was enthusiastic about progressing the Venmo competitor after spending time as a Google programmer.

It is said that Lee, nicknamed ‘Crazy Bob’, would take ketamine and cocaine and go to raves across the globe.

Harper Reed, CEO of General Calacic Corporation, said that he and Lee once took off their pants to go to a party.

Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Lee, who was separated from his wife, would commonly sleep with numerous women at these parties, including Khazar.

Lee was confronted by Nima at one of these parties on April 3.

Prosecutors claim Nima questioned Lee if he and his sister were “doing drugs or anything inappropriate”, to which Lee promised him that nothing unsuitable had happened.

Only a few hours after the exchange, Lee was discovered dead with multiple stab wounds.

Nima and Lee met up again later that night at Khazar’s luxury Millennium Tower apartment, authorities say.

The two were seen on surveillance footage getting into Nima’s white BMW at around 2am on April 4 and leaving the scene.

It is from there that he is believed to have driven Lee to an isolated area multiple streets over, where he stabbed the Cash App founder numerous times with a kitchen knife.

Lee was then allegedly left to bleed out in the centre of the street.

He was last seen stumbling and asking for help before collapsing near the Bay Bridge 16 minutes from Khazar’s apartment.

According to police Khazar was texting Lee around the time he died.

She wrote in one of these messages: “Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause I know nima came wayyyyy down hard on you.

“And thank you for being such a class man handling it with class. Love you Selfish pricks.’”

Cocaine and ketamine was found in Lee’s system at the time of his death, an autopsy discovered.

Friends of Nima have said that his life was unravelling due to his drug addiction “that made him unable to reason and speak”, was interested with weapons and had a concerning history of abuse allegations from an ex-girlfriend.

An anonymous long-time friend told Mission Local: “This is one of those things where (we’d say), “Nima, you’re cool, we love you, but you don’t make full sentences.”

They added that he was very close with his sister Khazar, which negatively impacted other friendships.

“I don’t know who Nima considered his closest group, besides his sister,” they said.

“He would do absolutely anything for her and she would do anything for him.”

An ex-girlfriend has said that his personal life was just as difficult. She said: “He was not nice behind closed doors.

“Called me probably the worst names I’ve ever been called.”

She said that he was threatening and possessive of her and did not respond well when she spoke to other men, causing her to suspect he would eventually physically abuse her.

Police records show that Nima eventually did become physically abusive, allegedly pushing a woman in his home in California in August 2022.

The ex-girlfriend said: “I honestly think that he’s scary, and I always thought he was scary – after I got to know him.”

A police reported said he was cited, but was never charged with battery: “She believes that he may be bipolar, because one minute he will be fine and the next he will go off for no reason”.

It is also claimed Nima regularly visited sex workers, with his behaviour leading to his phone number appearing on a website that shared possibly dangerous clients.

He has been described as a “boundary pusher”, with a source alleging he had “snatched me by the hair after I said not to.”

His cocaine use was confirmed by another review, and said he was “heavily armed”, with the outlet reporting that others accused him of owning ghost guns.

Another ex-girlfriend of Nima said: “He loved his guns. He talked about his guns all the time.”

She also said he kept many knives, and was “a fan of violence.”

However these claims have been denied by his attorney Paula Canny.

On his alleged drug use, she said: “I don’t think that’s ture.

“I don’t think that he had a drug problem, a serious drug problem.

“Based on the info that I have, I certainly wouldn’t classify him as a drug addict.”

Canny also denied his alleged behaviour with women and if he had ownership of firearms.

“I don’t think he’s ever owned a firearm, I just think that’s not true.

“Based on what I know, I believe there was nothing of any evidentiary value found when the police searched Nima’s apartment on the night they arrested him.”

She added: ‘I don’t know how to react to that, either; that’s not my experience of Nima’ when asked about his abusive behaviour, noting that ‘everybody has enemies’ who wanted to trash his reputation.

According to the attorney Nima plans to plead not guilty to the murder charge.

In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, Canny said: “My team and I continue to work hard to investigate all the many aspects of this case and the goings-on of the weeks preceding the incident.”

Khazar’s attorney’s statement also appeared to reject she had any involvement with Lee.

Attorneys Mary McNamara and Ed Swanson told the Journal: “There are many rumours circulating around this case, many of them untrue.”

They added: “Ms. Momeni loves and supports her brother.”

“What happened here is a tragedy, and Ms. Momeni is deeply saddened at the suffering of the Lee family as they deal with their terrible loss.”

Krista, Lee’s ex-wife, denied that her estranged husband was a partier.

She said of Lee: “He was a dedicated father.

“He was more mature than that.”
