Brits name 10 most annoying bad habits guaranteed to ruin dinner out

The UK has named their 10 most annoying table manners as 76 percent of Brits admit to experiencing poor manners in restaurants.

While Britain was once known for its impressive table manners, times have somewhat changes thanks to the introduction of mobile phones and a more relaxed approach to dining out.

And now new research has found 73 percent of Gen Z Brits think people care less about table manners compared to previous generations.

Interestingly, more than half of Gen Z Brits believe traditional table manners are no longer relevant, while 38 percent admit to using their phone while eating.

The new data from Prezzo found the UK’s 10 most annoying table manners that thousands of Brits have experienced when dining out – and you might be surprised at some of them.

However, there are a few rules Brits argue must be followed. Talking with food in your mouth, snapping your fingers at servers and being overly loud in a restaurant are still big no no’s as research shows these are the rudest things you can do while out for a meal.

When it comes to eating Italian food, nearly half (49 percent) of Brits say eating pizza with our hands is the done thing to do, whilst over a third (36 percent) admit to using a knife and fork when eating pizza in a restaurant.

Beatrice Vears, CMO of Prezzo said: At Prezzo, we welcome all generations through our doors to share the joy of Italian dining. As our research shows, when it comes to table manners, everyone’s take on what is acceptable is different. For us, we don’t mind whether you’d like to use a knife and fork to eat your pizza, or a spoon to scoop up spaghetti. We just want our customers to enjoy all that our menu has to offer.”
