British ship blasted by Houthi drone in latest Red Sea attack

A British ship has been hit by a Houthi drone in the latest attack in the Red Sea. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the attack on the ship, which is a British-owned cargo vessel, happened west of Hodeida in Yemen just after midnight on Tuesday, when the captain reported ‘a small craft’ had pulled up on his Port side.

No crew were injured in the attack and the ship was considered safe to continue.

Hours later, Houthi rebel military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree claimed in a statement that his forces attacked two separate vessels, one American and one British, in the Red Sea.

It follows a third round of British and American strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.
