A 32-year-old British expat in Mexico has reportedly been seriously injured in a shooting that took place near the country’s Riviera Maya Caribbean coastline. The alleged incident would have taken place after armed intruders broke into her home.
The young woman reportedly suffered gunshot wounds, and was airlifted to a hospital in the resort of Playa del Carmen to be treated.
A man, initially said to also be British but now understood to be German, was shot dead.
He is believed to have been the partner of the wounded UK expat.
