Body language expert compares Princess Kate to Diana after recent public appearance

Princess Kate is said to be following in the footsteps of Princess Diana after she was spotted at an event with Prince William.

The Princess of Wales joined William in Cardiff to celebrate the start of Black History Month.

She was seen making a love heart shape with her hands, a moment which body language expert Darren Stanton said was “genuinely full of compassion”.

He added that there were moment where he saw the late Princess Diana in the future Queen.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Mr Stanton added: “There is also a nice shot of Kate hugging one of the members, where she mirrors her body language completely. Her arms are stretched out, which shows her openness and honesty towards her. It also suggests they already have a rapport.

“From this, it shows she is definitely following in Diana’s footsteps, with how gracious and open she’s being. Her warmth really comes through in the pictures from this engagement.

“Looking at her eyes, I can see that she’s engaged fully and they have her full attention at all times. She wants to be a part of it. Looking at her facial expressions and open posture, she’s just happy to be there.”

Princess Kate has spoken of her and William’s competitive nature and Stanton reckons it was on show when they took part in a game of table tennis during the visit. He said while they looked “so relaxed” and exuded “genuine joy and happiness,” you could “see the intensity in Kate’s face”.

He added: “It’s a picture of dedication and drive of wanting to win against William. She enters into the spirit of things quite a lot and here, her competitive side has really shone through.

“But William is also competitive. He always has been, and the couple often want to get stuck in, even in public.”

He said the royal couple are “confident in their own skill” and came across as “genuine and authentic”.

He thought the onlookers were “impressed with how down-to-earth they are as a couple,” adding: “They’re always happy to go the extra mile and be involved with whoever they meet.”
