A woman has revealed to the world her bizarre festive habits – as she hauled her Christmas tree into the bathtub to wash it before putting it up in her living room.
The clip was posted on TikTok by a self-confessed “cleaning therapy believer” with the caption: “unpopular opinion – you need to clean your Christmas tree”.
The video began with the social media star, Rhema, clambering over the huge Christmas tree which was lying in the middle of her bathroom floor.
With jolly Christmas music in the background, it suddenly cuts to the tree inside the bathtub, with the woman spraying it up and down with pink cleaning detergent.
Rhema switches the tap on and the tub begins filling with water – at which point she squeezes in plenty of her apple-flavoured washing up liquid.
After rinsing the entire tree down, there is a shot of the dirt going down the drain – about 5 minor specks can be spotted washing away with the bubbly water.
The clip, which garnered an impressive 300,000 views, then cuts to Rhema putting the Christmas tree up in the living room.
The bombshell video left her audience in both shock and amusement, as the top comment pointed out: “The water being clear told me I don’t need to do this”.
Another amusingly asked “should I plug it in first?”, while a third said “do you also wash your electronics?”.
Briana wrote that she would sooner “buy another tree before anyone sees me cleaning my tree in the tub”.
Rhema’s TikTok channel is dedicated to clips of her cleaning up. One such video says: “who needs the gym when you can just clean your house”, while another filmed her cleaning her oven with the caption: “studies show that cleaning your oven can help you decide what to eat”.
