Billionaire property tycoon caught on camera 'spitting in restaurant manager's face'

A billionaire property developer has been caught on camera allegedly spitting in the face of a restaurant worker.

Patrick Carroll has been banned from five Miami eateries after being accused of screaming at a staff member at Japanese restaurant Hiyakawa when they supposedly tried to stop him from following a woman into the bathroom, the Daily Mail reports.

The worker, Angel Weill, 25, is now suing Carroll, claiming he was left shaken and unable to eat following their alleged altercation on April 12. While Weill claims that the businessman physically spat on him, representatives for Carroll’s insist it was a “pantomime” spit.

Carroll was said to be dining with three male friends when he asked Weill if he could buy drinks for a woman who was on a date at a nearby table. Weill supposedly politely declined, before Carroll allegedly attempted to follow the female into the bathroom.

Carroll’s spokesman Lewis Goldberg defended the tycoon – who is worth an estimated $8.2 billion – saying he “showed tremendous restraint” during the incident. “He is not happy with his own behavior,” Goldberg The Real Deal in a statement. “But the manager issued what are known as fighting words.”

After appearing to spit and gesticulate in Weill’s face, Caroll then allegedly said that he didn’t “give a f**k” before pointing out the worker’s “$20 shirt and $10 tie”.

Restaurant owner Alvaro Perez Miranda banned Carroll from all three of his Miami establishments when he learned of the confrontation. Carroll was already banned from all of Major Food Group’s restaurants in Miami after allegedly calling the manager of Italian chain Carbone a “street n****r” during an incident in December.

In that case, Carroll had allegedly taken issue with a glass of wine that was poured for one of his guests.

A lawsuit claims that he followed the server outside and pushed him, before being questioned by a service manager and told that his aggression was becoming a problem.

At that point, the businessman allegedly offered the manager money, which he refused. According to the complaint, Caroll then told the man: “Never in my life will I bow down to a street [n—–] like yourself.”

Carroll also admitted to hitting his wife in 2019, according to a report at The Daily Beast, and allegedly also threatened to hit a Colorado ski resort official.

A father-of-three, Carroll is the founder of U.S. real estate investment company Carroll Org. He is also the co-owner of S.P.A.L, an Italian soccer team.
