Biden accused of 'not caring about black people' as students turn away during speech

Students at Howard University appeared to be protesting Joe Biden’s commencement speech on Saturday as some students held signs claiming the US President doesn’t “care about black people”.

Several people were pictured turning their backs on Mr Biden as he delivered his speech to thousands of students at the Washington university.

One was holding a sign which read: “Biden and Harris don’t care about black people” and another protested the death of Jordan Neely, a black homeless man who was killed earlier this month while riding the subway in New York.

Fourteen students stood and faced away from the President during his speech, according to Jasper Smith, the editor-in-chief of the university student paper.

Another student held a sign which read: “Stand up and fight back. Black people are under attack.”
