Belarusian soldiers set each other on fire in bizarre military celebrations


Belarusian soldiers set themselves on fire and hit each other with sledgehammers as they celebrated the 60th anniversary. Pictures show soldiers demonstrating their skills with different types of arms and proving all sorts of strength capabilities.

Among the most bizarre showcase of military abilities, soldiers set themselves on fire and hit each other with burning sledgehammers on Tuesday.

The anniversary celebrations were held in Maryina Gorka for the fifth separate special forces brigade.

The brigade was formed in 1963 and has been part of the Armed Forces of Belarus since 2007.

In July 2020, President Alexander Lukanshenko visited the brigade in Maryina Gorka.

The celebrations come as the Belarus military is reportedly training for wartime measures.

According to Belarus Today, the Minsk military commandant’s office is carrying out a set of measures to transfer military personnel from peacetime to wartime.

Information about the move was published in the Telegram channel of the defence department of our country.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the activities are carried out in accordance with the plan for sudden checks of the level of combat and mobilisation readiness, approved by the head of the service department of the Armed Forces.

The main purpose of the events, as reported in the defence department of our country, is to test the knowledge of military personnel and evaluate their actions when bringing a military unit to the highest degree of combat readiness.

Belarus provided Russia with a launch pad for the invasion of Ukraine, which began in February.

Vladimir Putin paid a rare visit to Belarus last week as his forces pursued their campaign to bombard Ukraine from the air in a bid to break a stalemate on the battlefield.

His trip raised concerns Moscow could be preparing for a renewed attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

The Kremlin has this month warned that increasing the supply of US arms to Ukraine would aggravate the war, which is now in its tenth month.

It came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met US President Joe Biden in Washington, where officials announced a huge, new military aid package for Kyiv.

The £1.5billion ($1.8bn) package includes a Patriot missile battery and precision guided bombs for fighter jets, according to US officials.
