Armed police have rushed to a hospital in Bath to tackle a major incident.
People have been advised to avoid the area surrounding the Royal United Hospital while police officers remain on the scene.
Social media users have claimed that there is an “intruder on the loose”, however, these reports have not been confirmed.
A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We are currently responding to an incident in the vicinity of the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Officers are at the scene but at this moment in time would advise people to avoid the area as a precaution. We will provide further updates in due course.”
