When it comes to milestones, taking your first steps is up there with the greatest. Mums and dads around the world will remember with pride the first time their baby takes his or her tentative first steps.
Some remember exactly where the magic moment took place and who was standing there waiting with open arms for them to fall into.
Now a viral video that’s tugging at heartstrings appears to show a baby boy taking his first steps – but repeatedly only going to one little girl out of a selection of three girls, who look to be his sisters.
And those who’ve seen the cute clip – that’s been viewed many millions of times on social media platforms, including 56 million times on X – say the baby is choosing his favourite sister to walk to.
In the footage, the three little girls sit cross-legged as the toddler sets off on wobbly legs.
In the first part of the video he chooses one little girl to head to – and the other two look crestfallen.
The girls then repeat the experiment two more times as they switch positions – but on both occasions he chooses the same little girl.
In one last attempt to include the other little girls – the toddlers apparent favourite doesn’t take part – but he just drops to the floor rather than continue on to the others despite their loving encouragement.
@TheFigen_ shared the video on X with the caption: “It’s obvious that he only loves one sister!
“He shows this with his first steps!”
But others have pointed out that it’s the smallest child who he chooses to walk toward – and believe that’s the reason for his preference.

Another X user thought it could be due to the smallest girl he repeatedly chooses was wearing a brighter colour.
