Aston Martin have revealed their new livery for the 2024 season, launching the AMR24 with the target of claiming their “first win in green”, according to team principal Mike Krack.
The new livery centres around the same dark green colour scheme that was present in the AMR23’s design although, as has been the case with nearly every team in 2024, there is a stronger presence of carbon fibre on display.
The Silverstone-based team enjoyed a sensational start to the 2023 campaign, turning up at the season opener in Bahrain with the second-fastest car in the field behind eventual world champions Red Bull.
After scoring six podiums in the space of the first eight Grands Prix, Aston Martin looked like frontrunners in the battle for second place with Mercedes, but after struggling to keep pace in the development race, they ended the campaign in fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship standings.
Giving his thoughts about the AMR24 ahead of his second season with Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso said: “I am incredibly proud of this team and what has been achieved in such a short space of time.
“Not only the progress on the track but the investment in all areas off track at the AMRTC. I always enjoy this feeling at the start of a new campaign, with this season marking my 21st as a racing driver in Formula One.
“The whole team has worked flat-out on getting the AMR24 ready for the new season, but there are so many questions to answer in testing and the first few races. I am excited to get in the cockpit and start my second season in green.”
Lance Stroll was also feeling optimistic following the launch of the team’s 2024 challenger, adding: “There has been a real buzz around the AMRTC this winter.
“We’re still a young team, but we’re growing up fast. There’s that hunger and belief when you walk around the campus – a credit to all of the amazing people working here.
“We all want to push on from what we achieved last year, especially in the final part of the season when we made some strong progress, learning more about the car. I think that sets us up nicely for the new season and I can’t wait to get going.”
