Arsenal have 'football obsessed' weapon who is repeating Chelsea tactic for Arteta

Arsenal are pleased with how Kai Havertz is settling into their squad, despite the immense criticism that has been aimed at the playmaker since his arrival. The Germany international scored the all-important goal in the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Brentford last weekend, and he will be hoping to build on that momentum in the coming weeks.

Eyebrows were raised when Arsenal signed Havertz from Chelsea over the summer in a deal worth £65million, having witnessed his struggles at Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons that saw him fall down the pecking order under several different managers.

Mikel Arteta insisted that he would be able to help the 24-year-old get his career back on track, with his versatility proving a very attractive attribute. Arsenal were keen to sign players who can be deployed in numerous roles to ensure they are well-stocked in every position.

Havertz is yet to truly repay the faith of his manager though, scoring two goals in 20 appearances in all competitions. However, The Athletic report that Arsenal remain very pleased with how their new No. 29 has taken to life in north London and they are willing to offer him the time he needs to settle.

Havertz is described as ‘football obsessed’ and remains ‘ultra committed’ to working with Arsenal’s coaching staff to ensure that his move to the Emirates Stadium pays off and he is able to truly reach his potential in the Premier League.

The ex-Bayer Leverkusen’s work ethic behind the scenes has also drawn high praise from those at the club, with his conduct ‘beyond reproach’. Chelsea sources described Havertz in a similar vein whilst he was at Stamford Bridge, and it was his drive and determination that was frequently credited for his knack for scoring important goals, including in the Blues’ Champions League final win over Manchester City.
