Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta 'worried' as Bukayo Saka suffers new injury before Man City tie

Mikel Arteta admits to being ‘worried’ about Bukayo Saka ahead of Arsenal’s showdown with Manchester City this weekend. The winger was substituted in the first half of the Gunners’ Champions League defeat to RC Lens, with Arteta suggesting that a fresh issue was to blame.

“He tried to backheel a ball in the first half,” explained the Arsenal boss after the final whistle. “He felt something. It was muscular. He was uncomfortable and we had to take him off. We don’t know anything more than that. It was big enough not to allow him to play the rest of the game and that is a worry for us.

“We had to make changes, the two wingers we are missing give us a lot of threat. It was a big night for us, we didn’t manage to get the result we want.”
