Armed police and dog units have today swarmed a town centre after receiving reports of a person being spotted with a handgun. Police remain in Cheadle High Street, North Staffordshire, with residents urged to remain in their homes.
One witness told our sister website, StokeonTrentLive, an individual was spotted with a handgun at around 4.20pm and claimed they had been out in the street “knocking on people’s windows and doors.”
A further image has shown at least four armed officers at the scene, but the force has not yet released any details.
