American leaves Brits in stitches after trying a Greggs sausage roll for the first time

An American TikToker has left Brits in stitches after trying some food staples from our side of the pond.

David Turek, 26, is originally from Chesapeake in Virginia and is a full-time student.

He started reviewing British food on TikTok (@davidturek23) after seeing Brits doing the same with American food.

“I thought it would be nice to do the same thing but trying British food,” he said.

His videos gained lots of attention, getting upwards of 900,000 views and gaining him 30,000 followers.

British viewers frequently comment about being able to relive their first time trying classic foods through his videos. He has tried everything from fish and chips to crumpets on his TikTok account.

But the sausage roll from Greggs got lots of attention with David taking a bite and saying: “Holy s***!, 9.8 out of 10, that’s f***ing lovely”.

He described fish and chips as “absolutely insane” and crumpets as “really good”.

David has tried lots of sweet treats like french fancies, battenberg and Creme Eggs as well as a variety of crisp flavours.

He said his favourite British food so far was fish and chips.

“That meal was absolutely sensational, and I haven’t really experienced anything like that in the US,” he said.

“That meal was absolutely sensational, and I haven’t really experienced anything like that in the US,” he said.

David was initially not excited about trying a Sunday roast due to it being “drenched in gravy”.

But after trying it in a local pub in Wales, he was taken aback and happily surprised.

The student believes the quality of food in the UK is much higher than it is in the US but he does not like Marmite or black pudding.

“The worst British food I’ve eaten. I honestly get sick just thinking about it, especially the Marmite,” he said.

He said the top places he wants to visit in the UK are Liverpool, Yorkshire, London, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
