Amanda Knox announced she is pregnant with her second child in a hilarious Instagram post. Smirking in her backyard, she can be seen “manspreading” while lazily holding a beer in one hand.
With Amanda wearing a green polkadot jumpsuit, the post is captioned “pregspreading” with the Oxford English Dictionary tagged. It appears to be the 36-year-old’s unique way of letting the world know that her second child with husband Christopher Robinson is on the way, reports The Mirror.
Along with husband Christopher, Amanda hosts the “Labyrinths” podcast. In it, Spotify says the pair “delve into stories of getting lost and found again”.
They frequently interview other podcasters and experts on a myriad of topics to provide “compassionate interviews, philosophical rants and playful debate.”
The news came as a surprise to many of Knox’s followers. Her first daughter, Eureka Muse, now two, was announced on the podcast in October 2021.
In an interview with The New York Times, Knox said she had kept the birth a secret at first because she was nervous about the “paparazzi bounty on her head” that persists from her legal ordeal in Italy.
In 2007, Knox was studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, when her roommate Meredith Kercher was murdered. The then-20-year-old Knox was wrongfully convicted in the slaughtering, defamed and sent to prison for a few years before a retrial exonerated her.
The ordeal garnered her widespread media attention, including paparazzi stalking. On her podcast, Knox told listeners that she wanted Eureka’s public image and her “privacy and autonomy” to be formed of her own volition — something she said she was “denied” for herself after her trials.
Because of her own experience, Amanda does not share pictures of Eureka on social media. She has shared one image of the child tucked into a hug with her mother that doesn’t show her face.
Although Knox’s pregnancy announcement was more public than her previous, it is not yet known if her second child will feature more on her social media platforms.
Several users flocked to the comments of her announcement post to express their congratulations.
“Omg Amanda!!!! I am over the frickin moon for you!!!! Cannot wait to meet the newest addition,” wrote comedian Nicole Aimée Schreiber. “Oh this is AMAZING news & a freaking AMAZING pic!! Congratulations to you, you are beyond deserving of SO much happiness,” added @kerrylama43.
The post garnered over 6,000 likes and more than 200 comments of well-wishes.
