Prince Harry once had popcorn stolen from under his nose by a cheeky toddler as he watched the Invictus Games.
Cameramen recording the games captured the moment a mischievous little girl took several mouthfuls of the Duke of Sussex’s confectionary while he was distracted in 2017.
The footage, posted more than six years ago, shows the Prince chatting with a spectator at the games with a packet of popcorn in hand and a young girl on her mother’s lap sitting to his right.
Unbeknownst to him, the youngster had targeted his food and had started casually picking individual pieces of popcorn out of his packet.
She continued to eat the food for nearly a full minute before the Prince realised he was unknowingly sharing, and onlookers said his reaction was “so sweet”.
The video, first captured by ITV, showed two-year-old Emily Henson, the daughter of Prince Harry’s close friend, British Paralympian Dave Henson, snatching several handfuls for more than 50 seconds of the two-minute clip.
The Prince seemed deep in conversation as he watched the games, and his popcorn was tipped towards the little girl, who was gleefully taking advantage of it being within her reach.
On realising he was sharing, he jokingly moved the packet out of reach before picking out a piece and handing it over.
The two were later seen joking around, with the Prince offering more pieces before eating them himself.
The adorable interaction almost immediately hit headlines in 2017 and continues to tickle viewers in 2023.
Dozens of users commenting on the video on YouTube have said both the Prince and Miss Henson were “cute” and “sweet”.
One commenter said: “This is exactly why I love kids. She has absolutely no idea she is stealing Prince Harry’s popcorn, and she really doesn’t care. Prince Harry’s reaction was so sweet he just shared it with her.”
One user suggested Prince Harry likely knew the youngster was stealing his popcorn, and purposely held his food there so she could reach.
They said: “They are close friends in a private seating area, and he obviously knows she is eating his popcorn as he is purposely holding it so she can reach!”
Another concurred, adding: “That was too cute!!!!! The baby was having a good time, and Prince Harry was too. I know he knew she was eating his popcorn the whole time, and that’s how you handle it. And now she has a story to tell for the rest of her life…adorable.”
