A huge road closure is in place on a major UK road, following a crash earlier today. The A66 in Cumbria is closed in both direction between the A592 (Redhills) and the B5288 (Motherby) following the incident.
The incident is believed to have happened around 1.30pm this afternoon (April 20) and the road is understood to still be closed six hours later.
According to Traffic England, all emergency services are on the scene attending to the crash, and Cumbria Police are leading on the incident. A diversion is also in place.
Drivers are being warned to avoid the road, or plan for extra time on their journeys. The Express has contacted Cumbria Police for more information.
