Will Mellor is set to join the cast of Coronation Street and will play a drug lord known as Harvey, in scenes to air this month. The role is the first “out and out baddie” for the former Hollyoaks star, who has admitted he is a little bit apprehensive about playing a villain.
Will is best known for playing James ‘Jambo’ Bolton in the Channel 4 show.
A role which he played from 1995 to 2004.
The 44-year-old actor also portrayed Gaz Wilkinson in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, alongside Ralf Little and Sheridan Smith.
Talking about his upcoming role, Will said that he wanted people to be “shocked” by his character.

“Harvey is the first out and out baddie I’ve ever played.
“It’s a very different type of role for me so I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into the character and making some waves,” Will went on to say.
During his new interview, the actor said that the Corrie role was a “godsend,” and had arrived at the right to give the family a much-needed boost.
Last April, one month into the coronavirus lockdown, Will’s father died of cancer.
