Every time a commitment changes, claimants will need to agree to and accept the new terms.

Claimants can ask to have their commitment changes but all changes will need to be agreed with a work coach.

In a bid to help with the demand spikes seen for Universal Credit and other benefits, the Government set a target in 2020 of recruiting 13,500 Jobcentre Plus work coaches by the end of March 2021.

On February 25, the DWP confirmed they were on track to meet this target as they revealed over 10,000 work coaches had been recruited.

Thérèse Coffey, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, commented on this: “With thousands of new work coaches on our frontline, we have made sure that support is there for every jobseeker – wherever you are in Britain and whatever your circumstances.
