He is best known for playing the god Thor in the hit Marvel franchise. 

And on Thursday, Chris Hemsworth reflected on his incredible career and just how far he’s come. 

The 38-year-old Hollywood star shared a throwback image of himself from his very first professional acting gig, the low-budget medieval show Guinevere Jones, and said it’s ‘funny’ how life works out.

In the Australian-Canadian TV series, which was released back in 2002 and ran for two seasons, Chris portrayed King Arthur and wore a bright red wig and crown.

‘Throwback Thursday to my first ever gig,’ Chris wrote in the caption.

Chris said that at the time he wasn’t sure if the show would be a huge success or if he’d ever work in acting again.

‘When I first put this beautiful wig on I knew one of two things would happen, I’d be forced to grow my hair out and dye it red due to massive public fan fare or I’d never work again. Neither was true. Life’s funny that way,’ he wrote in his Instagram caption.

‘What movie is this? Now I have to see it!’ one fan wrote underneath his post. 

After Guinevere Jones, Chris went on to score a role in the long-running Australian soap, Neighbours.

The hunk is now a huge Hollywood star, and is best known for his portrayal of Thor in the hit Marvel film franchise. 

The upcoming installment, Thor: Love and Thunder, is due to be released next year and also stars Natalie Portman, Matt Damon, Chris Pratt and Sam Neill. 

Earlier this year, Chris uploaded a throwback photo of himself and co-star Tom Hiddleston reading their scripts for the first Thor film, which was released in 2011.

‘This year marks the 10th anniversary of Thor when two unknown lads were given the keys to the kingdom,’ Chris wrote in the caption.

‘It’s been a hell of a ride and we clearly haven’t aged a day,’ he joked, making sure to tag Tom’s account.  

He also shared a Vulture article written in 2009 that referred to himself Tom as ‘no name actors’.

Those ‘virtual unknowns’ would go on to become two of Hollywood’s most highly-paid actors.

Chris is currently filming Extraction 2 in Europe after the first film was declared last year as Netflix’s most-watched original film of all time.
