Thomas Tuchel confirms another new Chelsea injury and explains unusual Mason Mount problem

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed yet another injury issue as his squad continues to deplete ahead of a busy winter schedule. The German is already missing Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Mateo Kovacic for a lengthy period, while Mason Mount remains a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley.

Lukaku suffered an ankle injury in the Blues’ Champions League victory against Malmo two weeks ago. Werner hobbled off in the same game with a hamstring issue.

Last week, Croatian midfielder Kovacic suffered exactly the same problem as Werner to leave Tuchel without three of his most important players.

Mount missed the 3-0 victory over Newcastle last weekend after pulling out from the squad late through illness.

And now, Tuchel will be without wing-back Marcos Alonso when his side host Burnley at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
