Sunrise host Edwina Bartholomew suffered a major cooking fail on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old was left red faced after botching Jamie Oliver’s recipe right in front of him.

During the segment, the presenter was making French toast from the celebrity chef’s new cookbook via Zoom when the dish started to burn.

‘I just burnt mine because I was talking to you, and it’s like the world’s simplest recipe,’ she said to Jamie.

‘I wish this was a gag for the camera, but I have genuinely burnt it, which is good news for the dog, but bad news for the crew.’

Jamie said: ‘Clearly Gas hob’s and you don’t get on, so let’s whack it on the grill and see if that mode of transport might work better for you.’

‘I think a lot of icing sugar might be your best friend Eddy,’ he joked.

After presenting their final dishes, Jamie made fun of Edwina’s ‘mutilated’ French toast.

‘It’s been amazing watching you ruin a perfectly simple recipe and I love you very much,’ he joked.

Edwina’s interview comes as she prepares to welcome her second child to husband Neil Vacroe.

Their baby is due in February next year.

Neil and Edwina already share daughter Molly, one, and she joked that their little one was totally disinterested in the news.

The happy couple married on their stunning property Warramba, near Lithgow, back in 2018.
