Jen Shah suddenly disappeared moments before a police team showed up looking for her on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Bravo.
The 47-year-old reality star arrived with her hair in cornrows and wore black fur stole, as she loaded her bags on a black limousine van for a girls trip with the other housewives to Vail, Colorado.
Moments after getting a phone call, Jen told the other women that she needed to get off the van and couldn’t go on the trip.

‘Hi baby,’ Jen said, when she answered the phone. ‘No not yet, we are at Beauty Lab and Laser in the parking lot. I need to go to the house?’
Jen looked upset as she caught a glimpse of one of the cameras coming near her. She turned and immediately asked Whitney Rose, 34, to turn off her microphone pack and left the van to finish the call.
Heather Gay, 47, walked up to Jen right after she got off the phone and commented that she looked stressed.
‘I have some bad news,’ Jen told her. ‘ I just got a phone call and Sharrieff Sr. is in the hospital. He has internal bleeding so I need to go.’

Sharrieff , Jen’s husband, was shown earlier in the episode watching her as she was packing for her trip. Jen told Heather that she didn’t know if he was going to need surgery. Heather asked her if she needed them to stay, but Jen said no. She said if he was okay that she would catch a flight to Vail later.
‘How can he be okay?’ asked Heather.
‘I don’t even know what’s going on,’ Jen replied.
Good question: ‘How can he be okay?’ asked Heather Gay
Big hug: Heather assured Jen that everything was going to be okay with Sharrieff Sr
Heather then asked if she was going to tell the other women that were waiting in the van that she wasn’t going. Jen walked into the van and told Whitney Rose, Jennie Nguyen and Lisa Barlow her news. Jen got her stuff, loaded it back into a truck her assistant was driving and left.
After Jen pulled away, the women discussed cancelling the trip.
Jennie, 45, told them she was fine with going because there was nothing they could do either way. Heather said hopefully Jen was going to meet them there.

Meredith Marks, who organized the trip, was not in the van because she was in Aspen and said she would meet the women in Vail. Mary Cosby also was not there because she told them earlier she planned to fly private instead of taking the van.
Then 12 minutes after Jen left a team of armed law enforcement officers surrounded the van wearing vests that read police and HSI, Homeland Security Investigations. A producer said there were police outside and they had handcuffs out.
‘We’re looking for Jen Shah,’ said one of the police officers as he approached the van. A producer told him that she just left.

The door opened to the van and the women realized they were surrounded by police. The police demanded to know what vehicle Jen left in and a producer said that she left in a truck. Whitney thought at first that this was all some kind of prank.
‘Wait what the f*** is going on,’ said Lisa, 46.
‘No, I’m freaking out,’ said Heather.
Freaking out: ‘No, I’m freaking out,’ said Heather
The police asked if Jen was with her husband and Jennie then realized the police were asking about Jen.
‘Holy s*** what the f**** is going on?’ asked Lisa. Heather got out of the van and asked ‘what is going on.’
The police were speaking to a producer and said ‘we have to talk to her to make sure she is okay.’

Heather asked what the initials HSI on their vest stood for and they said ‘Homeland Security Investigations.’ Another officer said ‘we need to speak to her, that’s all.’
Heather told the officers that Jen left and told them she was headed straight to the hospital because her husband had internal bleeding. Lisa said that something’s weird. Whitney revealed that after Jen got that call that she asked her to turn off her mike.
‘You guys I’m going to puke,’ Lisa said.
‘They’re looking for Jen,’ said Whitney.

Jen was arrested later that same day. She was charged along with her assistant Stuart Smith, 43, on March 30th with running an alleged telemarketing conspiracy fraud scheme, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York.
They were both charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing through which they victimized 10 or more persons over the age of 55, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years, prosecutors said. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
