Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond has paid tribute to her brother Michael Smith after his passing at age 54 over the weekend.
‘It isn’t possible to sum up the life of someone as perfectly wonderful as my brother Michael, so right now I won’t try,’ she posted on Facebook.
‘He was seventeen months older than me, my first friend and buddy, and I’m so grateful for over 50 years of photos and memories. Please pray for my parents, whose devotion to Mike was boundless, and who will feel this loss most acutely. Michael Smith, you were everything.’

It is not yet known how Smith passed, however according to his obituary, he passed on October 30 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
The post included photos of the siblings as young children, along with a more recent shot of Smith.
Smith appeared on an episode of his sister’s hit Food Network show which Drummond once called her ‘favorite episode.’
‘The show featuring my brother Mike is replaying,’ Drummond posted to Facebook back in 2013 along with a shot of the siblings kissing as toddlers. ‘It’s my favorite episode… for obvious reasons.’

Drummond’s sister Betsy Smith announced her ‘sweet and wonderful brother’ had died this past weekend.
‘We lost Michael, my sweet and wonderful brother, this last weekend,’ she posted on Instagram on Tuesday. ‘He was one of a kind, and he will be missed by so many people who loved him. I’m very thankful for his life, the connections he made and his caring, fun and independent spirit. Love you forever, Mikey.’
Dan Dalton, who works for the ambulance service in the Tulsa, Oklahoma region, told KTUL he met Michael while driving the emergency vehicle at a football game.

‘His excitement on seeing the ambulance spilled over to coming to the ambulance station,’ he told the site. ‘To make a long story short he would routinely visit the ambulance station, the fire stations.’
Michael aka ‘Mikey’ was 14-years-old at the time, but attended every football, basketball, and baseball game in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. And he didn’t let away games stop him from showing up either, even traveling to the match with the team on their bus.
Dan said Michael, who had special needs, also worked at his father’s office for a few hours on a daily basis.

Dan paid tribute to the ‘Barlesville Icon’ on his Facebook page, where he posted a photo of Michael enjoying his soda.
‘It is with a sad heart to announce that Bartlesville Icon, Michael Smith, has gone to heaven. He is well known by almost everyone in Bartlesville and other parts of the state and known nationally due to Ree Drummond his famous sister.
‘It is nice to know that he went fast and did not suffer. God has been very good to my favorite buddy. I know he is making lots of new friends in heaven.’
