Piers Morgan, 55, was on hand to co-host Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid, 50, on Monday and the pair began the show by discussing their reaction to the interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, gave a candid take of their experience as members of the Royal Family and told Oprah, 67, some never-before-heard accounts of their lives. With ITV securing the exclusivity to air the interview, the host decided to vent his fury at the couple as he gave his verdict.
The outspoken journalist said: “I am angry to the point of bawling over. I’m sickened by what I’ve just had to watch.”
Jumping in, Susanna hit back: “People might be upset and moved by what they heard.”
“You can defend it in a minute. I’m just going to say what I want to say,” Piers said as he began his rant over the interview.
“This is a two-hour trash-athon of our Royal Family, of the monarchy, of everything the Queen has worked so hard for and it’s all been done as Prince Philip lies in hospital.”
Referring to a moment where the pair reveal there was some concern over their son’s heritage, he added: “They trash everybody. They basically make out the entire Royal Family are white supremacists.
“They throw it out there, it can be any member of the Royal Family and Harry says, ‘We’ll never say who it was’. Well, you better say it fast.”
