Fresh-faced Natalie Bassingthwaighte enjoys some downtime in Sydney ahead of her starring role in the Alanis Morisette musical Jagged Little Pill


She recently landed a starring role in the Alanis Morissette hit musical Jagged Little Pill.

But earlier this week, Natalie Bassingthwaighte enjoyed some down time as she went for a stroll in Sydney. 

The 46-year-old beauty appeared to skip the makeup and was fresh-faced as she picked up a coffee at The Rocks.

For her outing, Natalie opted for a sporty luxe look, donning black tights, some polka-dot layered tank tops and an over-sized jumper styled around her waist. 

The former Neighbours star accessorised with her Apple Airpods while she was on the move in her comfortable multi-coloured trainers. 

She also appeared to be sporting a camel-coloured backpack as she set out on her adventure.

To keep COVID-safe, the star added a touch of leopard to her look with an animal-print face mask. 

Last month, the pop star flew to New York to begin rehearsals for the Australian tour, which will premiere in Sydney at the Theatre Royal Sydney on December 2nd.

Natalie has been cast as the musical’s lead, Mary Jane Healy, a housewife who tries to keep her family in a functional state while she deals with opioid addiction and past trauma.

‘I am beyond excited and privileged to be part of this incredible show,’ the actress said after the casting news was confirmed.

‘I have such admiration for the key creative team in Alanis, Diablo and Diane who have created a show full of heart, courage, determination, and a vulnerability which I am looking forward to bringing to the role of MJ.’

She went on to explain that she was a ‘huge Alanis fan’ and loved the Jagged Little Pill album when she was a young adult.

‘A time where I was discovering what sort of person I wanted to become, and I can’t wait to be able to tell this story on stage through the incredible music and lyrics entertaining audiences but also filling them with hopeful inspiration,’ she continued. 

Natalie has previously performed on the stage in an Australian production of Chicago as the lead Roxie Hart.

She has also starred in local productions of Grease, Footloose and Rent.
