The rate will change from April 1, 2021.
Mr Sunak announced a new National Living Wage rate in last year’s Spending Review, and today, he confirmed it would go ahead.
“We’re also extending our support for the lowest paid and most vulnerable,” he told the House.
“To support low income households, the Universal Credit uplift of £20 a week will continue for a further six months – well beyond the end of this national lockdown.
