MacKenzie Scott, the author and philanthropist who divorced Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in 2019, has remarried.
Scott married Seattle schoolteacher Dan Jewett, according to a post on the website for The Giving Pledge, a movement of philanthropists who plan to give away a bulk of their wealth to charitable causes.
A post written by Jewett and dated March 6 detailed how he planned to give away the majority of his wealth during his lifetime.
“In a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know – and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others,” reads the letter from Jewett.

Jewett has been a teacher for decades and most recently taught chemistry at the private Lakeside School, where Scott’s children attended.
An update to Scott’s author page on Amazon notes she “lives in Seattle with her four children and her husband, Dan.”
Scott ranks 22nd on the list of world’s richest people, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a net worth of $53.5 billion. Last December, she revealed she donated more than $4 billion to 384 organizations amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Recognizing how much I have to learn from those unlike me has led me to a partner similarly inclined,” Jewett wrote. “I have seen many ways that MacKenzie has seen her efforts enhanced when she acts on the belief that those with common values but different perspectives, strengths, and experiences are essential to effecting positive change.”
