Laura Dern layers up with a floral dress and a lavender turtleneck as she grabs a bite to eat with her daughter Jaya in Brentwood
Laura Dern grabbed a bite to eat with her 16-year-old daughter Jaya Harper in Brentwood on Saturday afternoon.
The actress, 54, wore a colorful floral dress over a gray long sleeve turtleneck. She also donned a pair of dark sunglasses and a black face covering.
She carried quite a few things in her hands as well including leftovers from lunch and a black handbag held in the crook of her left arm.

Jaya wore a black and white striped shirt and a pair of sweatpants with leg bones adorning the front of the comfy-looking bottoms.
Dern’s daughter threw a black beanie over her curly dirty blonde locks, and she held a to-go soda cup in her left hand.
Jaya is Laura’s second child. The Little Women actress shares her and her son Ellery, 20, with her ex-husband Ben Harper. The pair were married from 2005 to 2013 though they had both of their children before officially marrying.

On top of sharing DNA, Jaya and Laura also share a professional path. They’re both furthering their acting careers.
Jaya made her feature film debut this year in Teenage Emotions, a film about life in an American high school.
Her mother’s career has continued to skyrocket since she won her Academy Award for Marriage Story. She recently completed filming on Jurassic World: Dominion and The Son.

The star recently opened up about reprising her role from the original Jurassic Park in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
‘Well, I’m so excited,’ she shared. ‘We had an extraordinary time all being together and back together. I feel really excited and privileged to be part of something that in its core, you know, was environmental messaging thanks to Michael Crichton long ago.’
Dern is currently working on Ozi, an animated film about an orangutan who is displaced from his home by deforestation in Indonesia. RuPaul and Donald Sutherland will also lend their voices to the film.
