Larry Lamb sparks emotional reaction over post on daughter's stalking ordeal 'Disgraceful'

Larry Lamb, 73, had informed fans that his daughter Eva Lamb, 17, is being stalked, after his ex-partner Clare Burt’s friend Evelyn Hoskins shared a lengthy statement online about what is happening on her behalf. The West End actress explained that following on from the alleged murder of marketing executive Sarah Everard, 33, she felt compelled to share a statement from her friend.

Evelyn typed: “My best friend is going through something hideous right now and what happened this week has brought a whole new light to the situation.

“At what point do we get the help we need? When it’s too late? She asked me to share her story…”

The statement, originally written by Larry’s ex Clare, who he split from last year, outlined how their daughter has been “stalked” since November last year.

She wrote: “My daughter is being stalked. As a mother of two young girls, I watch the headlines with intense fear. It could be any of us at any time, in any state of dress, whatever size, whatever age, whatever colour. My daughter is being stalked. Since November.”

One said: “Well done for speaking out. I totally agree- as the mother of a young daughter – that something should be done to make them feel safe when they leave the house. Wishing you all the best.”

A second replied: “My heart breaks reading this – I lived through a similar situation with my daughter- now she’s happily married with my 3 crazy grandchildren- we still worry always but please tell your daughter- the pain will pass and she will be her true strong & soon happy self x.”

A third commented: “So sorry for you and your daughter!! We need new laws and more support for situations like this ! Women are living in fear and it needs to stop !! I would definitely be back to the police hopefully in the current climate since #SarahEverad they might listen a bit more x.”(sic)

Larry retweeted many responses and replied: “So many wonderfully supportive messages .. she’s feeling much more confident ..thank you all so much . LL.”

Elsewhere in Clare’s statement, it had shared the immense “fear” Larry’s family has been feeling for Eva’s safety.

She continued: “This man preys on young girls who are still at school.

“He is 26, over 6ft, handsome, charming and they are his targets. He asks them to get in his car. One did.

“I informed the local secondary school who have acted upon this information, thankfully. The day after my daughter confided in me, I drove to the area she said he had found her a couple of times and sure enough, I found him. One minute away from the school.

“When asked why my beautiful, strong, innocent, vulnerable, scared child didn’t tell me sooner, she said that she thought she was ‘going mad’ and that maybe it was a ‘coincidence’ or that maybe she had ‘encouraged it’.

“He jumped in front of her once (from nowhere) and said, ‘What, are you stalking me?’

“We have installed security cameras and I have bought a tracker, I can’t sleep and I shan’t rest until I know I have done everything I can so that IF my worst, most unimaginable nightmare happens, I can’t say, ‘I should have’.”

The concerns from Larry and his family come just two weeks after the disappearance of Sarah Everard as she walked home from a friend’s flat in south London on March 3, and her body was later found in an area of woodland in Ashford, Kent, on Wednesday.

A serving police officer was arrested on suspicion of murder and was later identified as Wayne Couzens, 48.

Meanwhile, outrage has ensued on social media following reports of Sarah’s death, as women have continued to describe their own experiences with sexual harassment and assault.
