The passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch, is being talked about as “the end of an era” and a moment for grief and heartache.

Britain has entered a national mourning period in which everything from football games, carnivals to even hospital appointments will be canceled in an effort to celebrate the queen’s legacy, which many considered a symbol of stability, unity and commitment to service.
